The main components and mold materials of automobile molds

December 08 , 2022
The most important part of the automobile mold is the cover mold. This type of mold is mainly a cold stamping mold.

The stamping parts on the automobile body are roughly divided into cover parts, beam frame parts and general stamping parts. The stamping parts that can clearly express the image characteristics of the car are the Plastic Automotive Cover Mould Parts. Therefore, a more specific automobile mold can be said to be "automobile panel stamping die".

Automobile molds are the general term for molds that manufacture all parts on automobiles.

Automobile stamping dies are dies for stamping all stamping parts on automobiles.

The automobile body stamping die is a die for stamping all the stamping parts on the automobile body.

Automobile panel stamping die is a mold for stamping all panels on the automobile body.

Now when we talk about automobile molds in this section, it seems that they all refer to automobile panel dies. Mold materials are classified in three aspects.

Generally, it can be classified according to the following main characteristics:

1. Classification according to the nature of the process

a. Blanking die: A die that separates materials along closed or open contours. Such as blanking die, punching die, cutting die, notch die, trimming die, cutting die, etc.

b. Bending mold: A mold that bends a sheet blank or other blank along a straight line (bending line) to obtain a workpiece with a certain angle and shape.

c. Drawing die: It is a mold that makes the sheet blank into an open hollow part, or further changes the shape and size of the hollow part.

d. Forming mold: It is a mold that directly copies the rough or semi-finished workpiece according to the shape of the convex and concave molds in the figure, and the material itself only produces local plastic deformation. Such as bulging die, shrinking die, expanding die, undulating forming die, flanging die, shaping die, etc.

2. Classification according to the degree of process combination

a. Single-process mold: In one stroke of the press, only one stamping process is completed.

b. Composite mold: There is only one station, and in one stroke of the press, two or more stamping processes are completed at the same station at the same time.

c. Progressive die (also called continuous die): In the feeding direction of the blank, it has two or more stations. In one stroke of the press, two or two steps are successively completed on different stations. Dies for the stamping process above the road.

3. Classification according to the processing method of the product

According to different product processing methods, customized automotive moulds can be divided into five categories: punching and shearing molds, bending molds, drawing molds, forming molds and compression molds.

a. Punching and shearing dies: The work is done by shearing. Commonly used forms include shearing dies, blanking dies, punching dies, trimming dies, edge trimming dies, punching dies and punching dies.

b. Bending mold: It is a shape that bends a flat blank into an angle. Depending on the shape, precision and production volume of the part, there are many different forms of molds, such as ordinary bending dies, cam bending dies, curling Punching dies, arc bending dies, bending punching dies and twisting dies, etc.

c. Drawn mold: Drawn mold is to make a flat blank into a bottomed seamless container.

d. Forming die: refers to the use of various local deformation methods to change the shape of the blank. Its forms include convex forming dies, edge forming dies, neck forming dies, hole flange forming dies, and round edge forming dies.
